Opportunities

View as Markdown

An opportunity is possible revenue from an existing customer. Each one has a type: Upsell, Cross-sell or Renewal. Find them under Projects › Opportunities or on a customer’s page.

Projects › Opportunities opens on My Opportunities: open opportunities you own. Switch between Open and Closed, search with Search opportunities, or open Filter to filter by Owner, Close date from / until, Stage and Opportunity type.

Columns: Opportunity Name, Type, Customer, Amount, Probability, Stage, Owner and Est. close date.

  1. Click Create Opportunity.
  2. Pick the Customer. If the customer is churned, you see “Selected customer is churned”.
  3. Fill in Opportunity Name, Estimated Close Date, Opportunity Type, Owner, Probability, Stage and Amount (shown as ARR or MRR, whichever your organization uses). Description is optional.
  4. Click Create.

The stages are Prospect, Value Proposition, Proposal / Price Quote, Negotiation, Won and Lost. If you create an opportunity with stage Won or Lost, it is closed right away (“This opportunity will be closed upon creation”).

Open an opportunity with Manage in its menu. Change what you need and click Save changes.

To close it, set the Stage to Won or Lost, click Close opportunity, and confirm with Complete. A closed opportunity can’t be edited any more.

Delete in the menu removes an opportunity after you confirm.

Turn each on or off in Notification settings:

  • Opportunity assigned to you: when you’re made the owner of a new opportunity.
  • Opportunity close date approaches: one day before the estimated close date.
  • Opportunity moves a new stage
  • Opportunity probability changed significantly

If your CRM is connected, its deals are synced in as opportunities. The sync only reads from your CRM: changes made here are not sent back, and the next sync can overwrite them. See HubSpot.
